Books and Resources

At Chiroptera Cabin Company we want to do everything we can to educate people about the benefits of bats and dispel the myths that have lead to so much fear surrounding bats. Employees of Chiroptera Cabin Company regularly go to schools, senior centers, libraries, and community groups to do educational programs about bats. We have an extensive collection of books, videos, posters, and handouts that we use to get the good word out. Here is a list of some of our favorite books and resources that contain great information. If you are interested in learning more about bats go to your local library or bookstore and look for these books and videos. If you have questions about educational material for children of a particular age send us an email and we’ll give you some ideas.

This 48-minute program was originally shown on CBS television. Hosted by Stacy Keach, this video follows Bat Conversation International’s founder Merlin Tuttle around the world. The video covers the importance of bats to many ecosystems, how bats find food, how they live and much more. Give viewers in-depth information about bats and contains wonderful segments of bats in action.
